The Ivy Enrichment Foundation of Tampa Bay proudly concluded its 2024–2025 Reading is More Than Fundamental (RIMTF) program year with a heartwarming closing ceremony at Broward Elementary School, celebrating the accomplishments of 13 students who participated in the literacy initiative.
Rooted in the mission to support students in grades 1–5 who are reading below grade level, the RIMTF program includes twelve 90-minute educational sessions focused on improving literacy skills through a comprehensive reading curriculum. Students engage in computer-based or face-to-face learning and conclude the program with a Spelling Bee, fostering both skill development and enthusiasm for reading.

At this year's closing ceremony, the theme “We Have Our Books on Our Heart” set the tone for a joyful presentation performed by the students to the tune of “Boots on the Ground.” Each child received a tablet to support continued learning at home. In addition, Dr. Cora Dunkley, founder of Cuddle Up and Read Every Day (CURED), generously donated free books from the CURED Donation Library, giving every student the gift new stories to explore.
This impactful program is made possible by the dedication of committee members Jacqueline Grant, Tangela DuPree, Dorine Norman, and Chairwoman Caridad Arenas Johnson, whose leadership ensures students receive the support they need.
