Spring 2025 Computer Tots Kicks Off with New Leadership and Bright Young Learners

The Spring 2025 session of Computer Tots is officially underway, welcoming eight enthusiastic young learners to an exciting journey in STEM education! This youth technology program provides students with essential computer skills, including keyboarding, internet safety, and responsible technology usage.
This session introduces new leadership, ensuring that students receive expert guidance as they explore the digital world. Stakeholder Kiana Blaine is leading the program, bringing her extensive experience in technology education and a passion for STEM learning for children.

Kiana Blaine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Florida A&M University and currently works in Technology at Eli Lilly and Company. With years of experience teaching middle and high school students through BDPA, tutoring, and volunteer initiatives, Kiana is dedicated to inspiring young learners to develop strong digital skills and confidence.
Joining Kiana in mentoring this session’s students are Stakeholders Jasmine Crawford and Hattie Mercer-Gilley, both accomplished professionals with deep-rooted commitments to education and community service.

Jasmine Crawford, an accomplished financial professional, holds an MBA in Finance from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Science in International Affairs from Florida State University. She also holds certifications in Emergency Management, equipping her with problem-solving, analytical thinking, and leadership skills. Jasmine has volunteered extensively with organizations like the YMCA and the National Council of Negro Women, developing a passion for mentorship and education. She is excited to help students build confidence in their digital skills and prepare for success in today’s technology-driven world.

Hattie Mercer-Gilley brings a wealth of experience in education and professional development. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Professional Management, a Master’s in Social Work, and a Master’s in Education specializing in Reading, Hattie has dedicated her career to supporting educational growth from early childhood to college level. She retired from Verizon Communications and the Hillsborough County School System, where she played a key role in shaping young minds. Her dedication to community service and education makes her an invaluable mentor for this session’s students.
